Sounds of Spain: Music for Guitar and Song Cycles by Ricardo Llorca at Reina Sofia NYC

Towards its mission of fostering international collaborations of the highest caliber, the New York Opera Society (NYOS) seeks to present the work of their Composer in Residence, Ricardo Llorca. The short and beautiful contemporary classical music concert focuses on Llorca’s compositions for classical guitar and for voice-instruments which he has composed for with great success. The proposed program will be: short guitar solo pieces, and Catalonian song cycles for Argentine baritone Gustavo Ahualli, Puerto Rican soprano Rosa Betancourt and renown Argentine pianist/conductor Jorge Parodi. The guitar soloist will be world renown Italian guitaris: Giuliano Belotti, (giulianobelotti.com) and Llorca will give a brief and entertaining lecture about his music just prior to the concert.
